Gameday

At BU, I played on the Women’s Rugby team (nothing like tackling people after a long day of classes), and eventually worked my way up to PR chair on the Executive Board and then team captain. That put me in charge of our content, from social media and the website to public outreach. Rugby isn’t always the most recognizable sport, and even though we competed at the D1 level, we were a club team that relied on our audience and donations to keep playing. So the content had a real job: keep people informed and give them a reason to support us. I designed matchday graphics, shot photos and video from the sideline, and promoted our fundraising pushes. It put my communications classes to work, and it’s still some of the most fun I’ve had making content because I freaking love the game.
